Isn’t this such a quaint little bridal shop by Annette Roberts. I love the brickwork and the warm colour of the cherry door and windows. It’s so inviting I ‘d just like to have a wander through the little doorway to see all the lovely bridal gowns and accessories. I know a special little bride called Pumpkins & Butterflies may be found within this special little bridal salon in the not too distant future as well as a Crabtree and Evelyn counter. I think Pumpkins will love her new beautiful home.

Mandy Rigg has sent me these charming images of her ‘Pistachio Ice’ bridal doll in soft complementing shades of mint organza and our lovely pale pink ruban mousseline ribbons and trims. I’m so pleased she gave her design such a beautiful name. The art of creation needs inspiration and I often find that I think of a name first. Sometimes the inspiration comes from a piece of lace or fabric and sometimes an image in my head, sometimes from the ballet or a film. Inspiration is all around us. We just have to learn to look.

Christine from Belgium told me that buying my Wedding Book has changed her life. Using the salon in the book as a starting point, she went on to build a smaller and more personalised version. She filled it with our floral salon furnishings. It has been a great thrill to watch her work develop as she sent me images of work along the way. She has used her treasured wedding book to help her create this stunning bridal salon and all these wonderful gowns and accessories. It really is beautiful.

Julie from South Africa has made a brilliant attempt with her bridal salon from the wedding book. It is slightly smaller than the original but every single detail has been preserved. It brought a little lump to my throat when I saw it. She is very proud of it and rightly so!! We have become really good friends and I love to hear of her new ventures. She tells me she often works late into the night which is not surprising when you look at her bed.
